Biography
Ben Cieslinski is a Technical Laboratory Coordinator for the TAMUQ Chemistry Department. Upon obtaining his B.S. in Chemistry from the Texas A&M University in College Station, he performed organic and analytical assays on environmental samples for nine years in Austin, Texas. During this period, he supervised and maintained an analytical laboratory dedicated to the analysis of volatile organic compounds and toxics in ambient air samples by cryogenic gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. Later, he developed and operated a mobile ambient air monitoring laboratory and point-source pollution monitoring program for the City of Houston. Currently, Ben teaches the freshman laboratory (CHEM 107), designed to teach the applications of chemistry principles in engineering and technology. In the fall, he will also begin teaching the third-year analytical chemistry laboratory (CHEM 318).
Ben is currently assisting Dr. Ashfaq Bengali in his research to understand the reactivity of photogenerated transition metal-solvated complexes on the sub-microsecond timescale.
