The Chemistry program at Texas A&M University at Qatar invites every year a large number of recognized experts in chemistry and related disciplines to attend its annual "QAFCO-TAMUQ Chemistry Conference" in order to discuss their recent research findings in the various disciplines of chemistry. This conference reflects Texas A&M University's commitment to provide the best resources available to faculty and researchers in the State of Qatar. Among its top priorities are human development, modernization of education and promotion of scientific research, with the aim to enabling Qatari Nationals to address the demands of the present and shoulder their responsibilities of leading a comprehensive development.
Sponsorship Agreement between QAFCO and TAMUQ - February 21, 2007
In the context of its continued efforts to support scientific and technical research and strengthen links with universities, institutions of higher learning and research centers, Qatar Fertiliser Company S.A.Q (QAFCO) signed an agreement with Texas A&M University at Qatar on Wednesday, February 21, 2007. As per the agreement QAFCO will sponsor the TAMUQ Chemistry Conference for five years. The agreement was signed by Mr. Khalifa Abdulla Al-Sowaidi, QAFCO Managing Director, on behalf of QAFCO and Dr. Mark Weichold, TAMUQ Dean and CEO on behalf of Texas A&M University at Qatar. Building on this successful partnership the conference will be named QAFCO-TAMUQ Chemistry Conference for the next 5 years starting in January 2008.
Following the signing ceremony, Mr. Khalifa Al-Sowaidi, presented a cheque for QR 750.000 to TAMUQ Dean & CEO Dr. Mark Weichold, being QAFCO's contribution towards sponsorship of the TAMUQ Chemistry Conference.
