INTEREST AREAS
Dr. Hassan S. Bazzi, a multiple-award winner for his academic excellence, teaches a number of courses and labs at Texas A&M University at Qatar, and has taught at Texas A&M University"s main campus in College Station, Texas. He was also in charge, since joining Texas A&M University at Qatar in 2004, of organizing and setting up the teaching chemistry laboratories with the necessary support instrumentation. These labs are fully equipped with state-of-the-art instruments like NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis-NIR, GC, GC-MS, GPC and DSC-TGA.
Dr. Bazzi's research interests focus mainly on:

  • Polymer synthesis and self-assembly
  • Supramolecular chemistry
  • Organic synthesis
  • Utilizing ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) to generate a variety of novel polymeric systems with interesting physical and chemical properties
