Science Research
The faculty in the Science Program are very successful in establishing strong collaboration with governmental and industrial agencies as well as internationally recognized academic institutions in Qatar and worldwide. The science faculty secured about $12 million in research funding during the last two years only as they won 15 projects during the two cycles of the National Priorities Research Program (NPRP) and Undergraduate Research Experience Program (UREP). Active research areas in the science program include: Trinary Tree Node Swapping Invariance, Parking Functions, Catalan Extensions, Information Theory, Algorithms and Coding, Cost/Benefit balancing in Game mechanics, Organometallic Photochemistry, Gas and oil reservoir tracer technology, Knowledge Discovery using DataMining Techniques, Nonclassical light effects, Foundational Quantum Physics, Nonlinear Optics and Dynamics, Photoswitch Synthesis, Molecular Machines, Problems in Neural Networks, Complex Networks and Nonlinear Science, Numerical Data Compression, Archaeological chemistry, Gas and oil Reservoir Tracer Analysis by Laser Spectroscopy.
In addition, the science program has been hosting an annual chemistry and mathematics conference for the last three years and will continue this activity on yearly basis. These conferences provided a very special opportunity for top scholars to exchange and share research and ideas.
We have research laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art equipment in these areas. We also have well trained research staff with experience in modeling and experimental research.
